...Not exactly, anyway, except in the sense that it's reviving a forgotten comic book tradition and that Your Humble Editor is involved.
I'm sure everyone reading this is familiar with the excellent re-arting blogs Covered and Repaneled. Inspired by those great ideas and emboldened by some submissions from friends, I've begun a blog called CORNERED, where artists recreate the corner boxes which used to appear on the covers of old Marvel, Harvey, Charlton, DC and other comics.
The blog is a couple weeks old with plenty more entries coming down the pike. If you swing by, you'll see a spooky Batman, a streamlined Captain Britain, renditions of the X-Men and Fantastic four and this sexy (?) She-Hulk pictured to the left. Coming up include greats from the Golden Age, a plethora of Marvel's finest, some surprising picks from other companies and - tomorrow - the best Iron Man ever drawn, no joke.
I'd love it if you swung by and took a look, AND if you're interested in submitting a CORNERED entry, please do! The submission guidelines are wordy but uncomplicated, and it'd be great to have as many contributors on board as possible.
In strictly Gone&Forgotten news, new articles are already being penned and new features already being put together for 2011, so stay tuned!
