I know! It was the vanishing man illusion at the London Palladium. I was drunk and wandered onto the stage during one of Liza Minnelis' 1986 Palladium shows. Being grabbed and dragged off stage (and then relatively brutally beaten*) by bobbies ain't much of a trick, but I sure as hell pulled it off!

* I mean, by modern American policing standards I got off pretty lightly.Johnie Long Torsohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08356292673581490275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1243661303845968536.post-48746632473837423682015-10-08T09:20:12.512-07:002015-10-08T09:20:12.512-07:00I've read that MAGICMASTER, like SPYMAN, is on...I've read that MAGICMASTER, like SPYMAN, is one of the Harvey characters created/developed by Jim Steranko. His own experiences as a stage magician likely fueled the emphasis on Jimmy and his sleight-of-hand trickery. This has always been a bit of a dilemma for me: Because of Steranko's work on stage, Kirby was inspired to create MISTER MIRACLE, whom I dearly love. BUT!---if Jim had instead been a dagger-wielding blue genie, maybe he'd have been able to turn out more than three issues of CAPTAIN AMERICA. We may never know.James W.
